How to Store and Handle Feeder Mice After Delivery

For Frozen Mice:

  • Storage: Keep frozen mice in a sealed bag in your freezer until ready to use.

  • Thawing: Place in the refrigerator overnight or in a sealed bag in warm water for faster thawing.

  • Preparation: Ensure the mouse is fully thawed and warmed to room temperature before feeding.

  • Safety: Never microwave, cook, or refreeze thawed mice. Dispose of uneaten feeders promptly.

For Live Mice:

  • Temperature: Keep mice in a clean, ventilated enclosure at 65–75°F. Avoid direct sunlight, drafts, or excessive humidity.

  •  Housing: Use an escape-proof container with aspen or paper-based bedding. Clean regularly to prevent odor and stress.

  • Food & Water: Provide a quality rodent diet and fresh water at all times. Mice can be kept short-term (1–3 days) before feeding.

  • Handling: Handle gently and only when necessary. Use gloves or tongs to avoid bites or escapes.
